MANY business owners who spend time regularly travelling between cities and towns often have to worry about organising professional-looking offices in which to meet or consult with clients.
Now using a locally-developed card, the Habitaz Green Card, business owners who spend a lot of time travelling to Johannesburg, can access flexible office infrastructure solutions and can expect to pay only an average of R750 per month.
Launched by Habitaz Global Workspaces last year, the card enables mobile entrepreneurs to rent offices, meeting rooms, and other business applications such as telephone and fax services.
A Johannesburg telephone number is also allocated to each cardholder. Voice messages and faxes can also be emailed to cardholders as they are received.
Presently the meeting rooms are only located in Bryanston. By December this year, the company aims to expand to Centurion, Durban and Cape Town.
Global Habitz Workspaces Director Hein Koen, says so far just 40 business owners use the prepaid service, while 100 others are on contract.
The prepaid card works like a debit card, you load it with credit to open an account, just like buying airtime. A cheaper option is the contract service, whereby you can buy set hours before-hand.
Johan Human, a Cape Town consulting actuary, who frequently uses the Habitaz Green Card while away on business in Johannesburg, says the card saves him money.
Human says it helps him secure fully furnished office space in Gauteng, offering him a professional business environment for the duration of his trip.
He says using the card also helps him maximise his productivity. It means he doesn’t have to worry about logistics of running an office.
He pays for his service on prepaid basis and only uses it when in Johannesburg. The costs usually come to R300 per month. He paid an initial cost of R275 for an access tag.
