The newspaper BigNews for the Business Owner was launched in 1996 to provide a voice to business owners and to help them to grow their businesses and create jobs.
Every month 130 000 copies of the paper are provided to business owners through 750 carefully selected agents across South Africa. As a member of the Audit Bureau of Circulation, the free distribution through the agents is monitored and controlled.
In Gauteng and the Western Cape provincial supplements provide the opportunity for regional specific editorial content and advertising.
After ten years as a small, independent title, the controlling shareholding was sold to BDFM Publishers in 2006, with the result that BigNews joined a larger stable of business titles such as Business Day and Financial Mail.
